The Mazowiecki Hotel combines all features of comfortable and modern accommodation: well-maintained, refurbished interiors, convenient location and a wide offer for guests.
The facility was established in close relation with the process of the whole city and voivodship development. At the beginning of the 1970s, the authorities became aware of the lack of accommodation facilities for tourists and travellers. At that time, the American company Swindell-Dressler started building an iron foundry in Koluszki (still operational). There was no accommodation available in Łódź or its vicinity for the personnel employed on the construction site. That is why decided decision was made to quickly build a new hotel facility at 28 Pułku Strzelców Kaniowskich Street.
The Mazowiecki Hotel started its operation in 1973. With time, the building administration was transferred to the Przedsiębiorstwo Turystyczne Łódź (now "Centrum-Hotele" Sp. z o.o.), which resulted in enhancing its quality and reputation. For several years, when the city was regarded as "the film capital of Poland", the hotel was vibrant with artistic life. This was the place for actors and directors to celebrate their successes connected with films produced in the Łódź Film Studio seated in the neighbourhood, on Łąkowa Street. Only hotel walls and the oldest employees remember the day when, after finishing shooting for a new movie, great film stars sealed all door and window openings in a room in order to construct there... a swimming pool, as the hotel did not have one.
The Mazowiecki Hotel is situated a bit off the very centre of Łódź (within the borders of the Stare Polesie district), which makes its location favourable. A few nearby streets lead straight to the promenade (Piotrkowska Street) and in the direction of the Łódź Fabryczna Railway-Coach Station. The hotel is also located close to Ogrodowa Street, where commercial and entertainment facilities included in the Manufaktura complex are open till late night hours. You can visit one of the Cinema City movie theatres, eat a delicious meal from the selected national cuisine in one of the restaurants, have a great time in the bowling alley or pool club, visit the climbing wall and at night have fun in the pubs and the huge 3-storey "Elektrownia" disco club. All these attractions are available within the renovated walls of the Izrael Poznański's manufacturing empire.
The hotel's closest surroundings are also full of cultural places. In Więckowskiego Street, there is the famous Nowy Theatre which used to be run by Kazimierz Dejmek - a person with outstanding contribution into the development of Polish culture. In the neighbourhood, there is also one of the best Polish puppet theatres, the Arlekin Theatre. To see a lighter repertoire, i.e. comedies, farces and cabaret performances, you should go to the Powszechny Theatre, which annually organises The International Festival of Plays Pleasant and Unpleasant and presents the most interesting plays staged in Poland during a given season.
On the other hand, the hotel's location makes it possible to relax in the neighbouring large green area as it is situated close to the 172-hectare park called "Zdrowie". It is a perfect place for jogging, long walks or cycling. The park was established on the area of the former municipal forest so, apart from routed paths, there are "wild" areas frequented by small forest animals. At the back of the park (named after Marshal Józef Piłsudski), by the Łódka river canal, there is the biggest Polish botanical garden. In the area of 64 hectares, there are about 3 thousand plant species and varieties. One may visit a Japanese garden, rockery, arboretum, Polish flora section, park greenery or a collection of decorative plants. You may also visit the zoo and use the facilities of the modernised "Fala" Aquapark, the largest complex of swimming pools in Poland. The mighty pyramids enclose not only a swimming pool and recreational pools but also a few types of sauna and jacuzzi.
You should choose the Mazowiecki Hotel as you will enjoy entertainment and relaxation during your stay.
